Arbor Week Workshop planned at Dublin Park

An Arbor Week Workshop will be held Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at Dublin Park, 8324 Madison Pike. Madison Beautification & Tree Board is hosting the free workshop.

The program topics will include “Getting Trees Started Right,” “Trees and Construction” and “Five Underused Trees for the City of Madison.”

Speakers will be Denise Woodring, licensed landscape designer and owner of Green Thumb Garden Consulting & Design; Ken Creel, agent with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System; and Lee McBride, certified arborist, owner of Landscape Management Consultants Inc. and volunteer arborist for the City of Madison.

Tree saplings will be given away as door prizes. Extension system publications on tree planting and care will be available. Reservations are not required. For information, send email to mastergardenersofnorthalabama@gmail.com.
