MA rebounds with a win against Westminster
BY SCOTT WRIGHT
A bad first game for Madison Academy against a difficult Georgia High School was quickly forgotten on Wednesday as the Mustangs bounced back to defeat Westminster Christian Academy 64-37.
The Mustangs, already without many players due to the great success of the Mustang football team, lost another player to injury on Monday night.
This left the Mustangs with seven able-bodied players to battle the Wildcats. Fortunately for the Mustangs, one of those seven was Joshua Langford who scored a game-high 25 points.
A thunderous dunk in the second quarter would put the Mustangs ahead by twelve and they would not look back. Behind Langford and Quan Cothron, Madison Academy would outscore Westminster 38-23 in the second half. Cothron would finish with a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The young Mustangs will continue the learning curve on Dec.1 against West Morgan.
