Muncey details Cash Advance robbery
Three men have been arrested for robbing Cash Advance on Madison Boulevard Monday.
Police Chief Larry Muncey said he and Don Monk, law enforcement technical coordinator, were sitting in Firehouse Subs, next door to Cash Advance, eating lunch when the two saw a black male running in front of the store.
“We got up to look and some of the other people started coming from the parking lot saying he had a gun,” Muncey said.
Monk took off on foot after one of the assailants, who then jumped into a white Ford Explorer.
In an attempt to escape, the Explorer went through the Madison Boulevard and Lanier Road intersection, where the vehicle struck another vehicle.
The car continued down to Slaughter Road, attempted to avoid traffic and slid into a ditch.
“At that point, two of the armed robbers jumped out on foot,” Muncey said. “An investigator went after them. They caught one and the other went off into the woods.”
Muncey said the dog team was called and the last suspect was pushed out of the woods and apprehended.
“All three suspects are in custody, the money and weapons have been recovered and everybody’s OK,” Muncey said.
