Magic and fossils coming to library

The Madison Public Library will host a magic show June 14 and fossil exhibit June 16.

The Madison Public Library will be hosting events for children next week.

The magic show with Waymon Krugh will be back at the library June 14 from 4-5 p.m.

“He’s great,” said children’s librarian Mandy Pinyan. “The kids really love him. You can really tell that he is experienced and that he does this because he enjoys it.”

This is the first time the Madison Public Library has had Krugh’s magic show featured in the summer reading event at the library, but he has performed at the library before.

Pinyan said Krugh puts on a great show for the children and is back by popular demand.

She continued to say that he performs a variety of magic tricks and encourages audience participation.

The library will also feature a world fossil collecting event for children  June 16 from 4-5 p.m.

Sci-Quest will have educators come out to the library to teach children about fossils and the impressions in the fossils.

This is the first fossil collecting event at the Madison Public Library.

The event will combine teaching and hands-on learning.

In the past, Sci-Quest has taught children programs at the library about robots and water.

“We are happy to have them back,” Pinyan said. “Sci-Quest is a great asset to the community.”
