William Barclay Ervin, 78, of Madison passed away Thursday, May 5.
Mr. Ervin attended Moberly Junior College and Wichita State University. He was in the United States Air Force for four years, serving in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Boeing Company for thirty years, first as a Training Supervisor, participating in the Saturn Apollo Program, then as Employment Manager of Boeing Aerospace Operations in Houston, Texas and Employee Services Manager of Boeing’s Southeast Division in Huntsville. Mr. Ervin was also a ten year employee of Offshore Drilling Company in Houston, where he was Director of Foreign Personnel.
Mr. Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, George and Charlotte Ervin, of Moberly, Missouri.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Wilma Blackwell Ervin; son, Norman Ervin, M.D. and wife, Deborah; daughter, Kay Lynn Jenkins and husband, Stacy; grandchildren, Leigh Anne Ervin, Colin Jenkins, Meredith Ervin and Hope Ervin; brother, Gordon Ervin and wife, Jean of Springhill, La.; one niece; two nephews; and other relatives.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 8 at Maple Hill Cemetery with Dr. David Hull officiating.
