Lady Patriots defeat Falcons

Bob Jones vs. Florence

Joidon Jennings drives to the basket during the Patriots' victory over Florence in the area tournament.

The Lady Patriots jumped off to a 21-point start against Florence High School’s Lady Falcons, 71-29.

Four girls scored in the double digits during the Feb. 11 game.

Jasmine Jones and Tierra Jones had the most points on the team with 14 points each, followed by Rikeya Mckinnon with 12 points and Samiah Alexander with 10.

The Lady Falcons didn’t fare well in the first half of the game, only scoring three points in the first quarter and four in the second.

The second half of the game started off with 45-11, but the Falcons never gained the momentum to come back against Bob Jones.

Coach Tim Miller said although he thinks the team could improve on the shooting. Miller said the team played a great game and are more than ready for the finals game.
