Residents invited to city Growth Plan meeting Nov. 4

On Tuesday, Nov. 2, city residents had their say in state and local politics by casting their ballots.

On Thursday, Nov. 4, residents will have their say in the future growth of Madison as the first of several town hall meetings is scheduled to be held at 6:30 p.m. at the new Hogan Family YMCA gymnasium.

Mayor Paul Finley, Director of Community Development and Planning Amy Furfori and consultants from Urban Collage, Market + Main and Sain Associates will present the initial phase of the Growth Plan.

The meeting is open to the public.

The 10-month planning process is intended to result in a clear vision for the future of the city.

Six areas in the city have been identified as key development areas, and those include: County Line Road, South Madison, Downtown/Midtown, Old Madison Pike, U.S. 72 Corridor and the Western Growth Area.

The series of meetings will also focus on luring more businesses to the area, while also preparing for more residential growth.

For more information about the town hall meeting, visit Madisonal.gov or call 256-772-5603.
