Blondell Little Moore; Oct. 20, 2010

On Wednesday, Oct. 20, the Pearly Gates opened and God came to claim the life of Blondell Moore and she walked in for eternal rest.

Blondell leaves a loving family and friends to mourn her death:  her husband,  Mr. Robert Lee Moore Sr.; two sons, Mr. Robert L. Moore II, and Mr. Maurice D. Moore; and one daughter, Mrs. Yvonne Burks all of Huntsville, Alabama;  two granddaughters, Mrs. Kimberly Malone of Huntsville, Alabama and Little Miss Schuyler Moore of Baltimore Maryland;  two grandsons, Mr. Chuncey Moore (Denissa) of Huntsville, Alabama and Mr. Robert Lee Moore III “Trey” of Louisville, Kentucky; and two great grandchildren, Madizen Moore and Jeremiah Moore.  She also leaves one brother, Mr. Robert Lee Little (Gracie) and four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Little Langford (Cornell), Mrs. Odessa Little Steele (Robert), Mrs. Martha Little Holmes (Collice), and Mrs. Joyce Little Holmes all of Huntsville, Alabama; one uncle,  Mr. Charles Lockhart Sr., and one aunt, Mrs. Grace Lockhart both of Huntsville, Alabama, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

On April 28, 1944, Blondell Little was born as the ninth child to the late Mr. Doye Little and the late Mrs. Myrtle Lockhart Little in Madison.

Blondell attended Madison County Schools.  She later went back to school and became a certified cosmetologist and eventually became the owner and manager of Shear Essence Styling Salon.

Blondell became a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Primitive Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky.  Later moving back to Huntsville, she joined St. Bartley Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of  Reverend V. Castle Stewart.  The Lord guided her later in life to First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Julius R. Scruggs where she attended until her health failed.

In 1962, Blondell married Mr. Robert Lee Moore Sr. and to this union three children were born.

Blondell was a true servant to God as well as her family. She was a very skilled stylist that loved her work.  She had a large clientele that proved her work was a reflection of her beauty.

Moore was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Doye Little and Mrs. Myrtle Lockhart Little; two sisters, Mrs. Toleat Little Robinson and Mrs. Gilda Little Shanklin; seven brothers, Mr. Menger Little, Mr. Charles Little, Mr. Roy Little, Mr. Connie Mack Little, Mr. George Little, Mr. Vernell Little, and Mr. Doye Little Jr.; and one great grandchild, Chuncey Moore Jr.

Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, Oct. 23 at First Missionary Baptist Church (3509 Blue Spring Road, Huntsville, AL 35810) with Dr. Julius R. Scruggs officiating. Interment was held in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
