Wall Triana construction near I-565 interchange begins

Improvements to Wall Triana Highway near the Interstate 565 interchange will begin Tuesday, Sept. 14, and construction is expected to last three weeks.

Construction will begin on the project at 6 p.m., and should last through 6 a.m. each day.

Crews will begin milling and resurfacing the road over I-565, from north of Madison Blvd. to Cleghorn Blvd.

Crews will also restripe the new pavement to ensure motorists safety, as well as functionality, of the roadway, while also installing ceramic markers to direct traffic where needed.

The project will also provide an additional turning lane from Madison Blvd. eastbound to Wall Triana southbound.

The project is aimed at improving the quality of the existing asphalt pavement, as well as enhancing the overall efficiency of the intersection.

Due to the high volume of traffic north and southbound, the asphalt has failed.

Traffic on Madison Blvd. eastbound turning southbound onto Wall Triana has increased, causing the stack lane to back up into the through traffic.
