Fireworks, fun on tap for Fourth

Madison’s Fourth of July celebration will be bigger and better than ever this year.
Events will begin July 4 at 2 p.m. at Dublin Park.
There will be free inflatable activities including a kiddie corner, 70-foot obstacle course, three-in-one combo, 62-foot water slide, children’s circus train and many more.
There will also be a free concert this year in addition to the expanded rides. “The Shakes” will take the stage at 3 p.m. and play until 7 p.m. At dark, there will be a free fireworks show.
Vendors will be set up around the park throughout the day and night to keep the public well feed and hydrated.
“Our team knew other cities were scaling back their plans this year, and approached me about doing something even bigger,” Mayor Paul Finley said. “We want everyone to come out, enjoy the activities, concert and fireworks, and make a day of it. What better way to celebrate this great holiday than together with the community.”
There will be limited parking for the event in the main Dublin Park parking lot. The city will be establishing a shuttle service from Bob Jones High School and encouraging patrons to park in the south parking lot of the school and take the air conditioned shuttle to Dublin Park.
