Slone named new Record publisher

Erica Slone has been named publisher of the Madison County Record.
She comes to Madison from The Selma Times-Journal, where she served as advertising director since 2007.
She is a native of Pikeville, Ky. and has a degree in elementary education from Morehead State University.
“It is so exciting to be joining the Madison County Record family,” Slone said.
“I look forward to sharing my experience in advertising with our clients and staff and cannot wait to become involved here. Madison is a beautiful town, with people and I look forward to meeting everyone.”
Slone moved to Madison County last week and she works daily from the Record’s office at 151-C Hughes Road.
In Selma, she was active in the Alabama Press Association, a member of the Selma Lion’s Club, served on the International Paper advisory board, YMCA board and was a graduate of the Selma – Dallas County Leadership program. She also actively participated in Selma Beautification Committee, Relay for Life and Habitat for Humanity.
Leada Gore, who recently guided the newspaper as publisher, continues as publisher of the Hartselle Enquirer and will aid Slone in her new Madison responsibilities.
