    June 28 Madison walking tours continue The Madison Chamber of Commerce guided Walking tours continue each Saturday through historic downtown Madison. Local businessman Larry Anderson, son of Eugene Anderson, who was the mayor of Madison from 1957-1965 and grandson Walton "Doc" Hughes, who was mayor of Madison in 1944, will be the tour guide on June 28. The tours begin at 10 a.m., on the steps of the Clay House Museum at 16 Main St. in Madison. The walking tours cover six blocks and take about an hour and a half.     June 30 Lecture and tea Come join us Monday, June 30, for a lecture and afternoon tea at the Clay House Museum, 16 Main Street, Madison. The lecture will start promptly at 1 p.m. The lecturer this week is Nancy Rohr, teacher and researcher, Mrs. Chadick's Civil War Journal.     June 26 Madison Children's Theatre Tickets are now on sale for Madison Children's Theatre's production of C.S. Lewis' classic tale "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe." The play will be presented at the VBC Playhouse in Huntsville on June 26 and 27 at 7 p.m., and on June 28 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults.     June 29 Dance for March of Dimes There will be a ballroom dance and dance show Saturday, June 29, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m., at the Space &Rocket Center Marriott. There will be a cash bar and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Tickets are $15, $5 of which will be donated to the March of Dimes. The Kinesthetic Cue Dance Club and Southern Elegance Dance Studio are hosting the event. For tickets or for more information, call 464-8477 or 519-8011.
    July 3 Patriotic concert Madison Community Chorus continues a Fourth of July tradition with its production of "An American Music Concert" to be held at Bob Jones High School auditorium on July 3 at 7 p.m. You'll hear truly unique sounds of famous American composers and performers, ranging from George Gershwin to Aaron Copland and classic Broadway standards, with American blues and swing adding a jazzy twist, Michael Gimenez, artistic director for the Chorus, said. Soloists, small singing groups and full orchestra will join the Chorus. Numbers such as "My Funny Valentine," "Body and Soul," and "Pennsylvania 6-5000" will highlight the Big Band portion of the concert.     July 7 Girl's soccer camp Lady Patriot Girl's Soccer Camp for the 2003-2004 season, will be held for fourth-sixth graders, July 7-11 at Bob Jones High School, from 5:30 p.m. until dark, Monday-Friday.     July 17 The Asbury Dinner Theatre will present the musical comedy "Brigadoon" July 17-19 and July 24-26, beginning at 7 p.m., at Asbury United Methodist Church. A matinee performance is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, beginning at noon. A benefit performance is scheduled for Sunday, July 27, beginning at 3 p.m. No meal will be served during at the benefit performance. For tickets or additional information, call 682-8079.
    July 19 Creative writing workshop The Learning Connection, on Main Street in Madison, will offer a two-hour creative writing workshop. The workshop is open to eight year olds and up and costs $25. The workshop will cover fundamentals of creative writing, how to create "mighty metaphors" and how to apply "punctuation with punch." Kelly Weathers, a trainer and free-lance writer will teach the workshop. Space is limited; please RSVP. For more information, call 464-9452.
    July 21 Girl's soccer camp Lady Patriot Girl's Soccer Camp, for the 2003-2004 season, will be held for 7th-12th graders, July 21-25 at Bob Jones High School, from 5:30 p.m. until dark Monday-Friday. Cost of the camp will be $40.00 per camper. For information please call Ken Hudson at 461-1415.

    Madison African-American Alliance Group (MAAG). MAAG meets every first Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Madison Municipal Complex, Conference Room-130. The main goals of the MAAG organization are to raise community awareness of neighborhood revitalization and historic preservation, and to promote inclusiveness and diversity within our communities and neighborhoods.     Providence Women's Club of Madison The Providence Women's Club of Madison meets on the second Wednesday of the month at the Heritage Plantation Clubhouse on County Line Road. The club, chartered in 2001, is a member of the General Federal of Women's Clubs and is dedicated to community service with interests in arts, education, conservation, international and public affairs, and home life.
    Madison Art League The Madison Art League meets on the third Monday every month at 7 p.m. at the Clay House Museum on Main Street. The Madison Art League is a group of local artist dedicated to the promotion and education of creative and original work. Everyone is invited to come and network.     Optimist Club The Optimist Club is dedicated to supporting the youth of Madison.     La Leche League La Leche League helps mothers worldwide to breast feed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement and information to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of baby and mother.     Madison Senior Citizen Center swimming Madison seniors can swim at the Madison Senior Citizen Center at 1282 Hughes Road. The pool is open from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
