Vox Angelica will present "Louis, Louis! or Pardon my French!" at the Church of the Nativity, Episcopal at 208 Eustis Street in Huntsville on June 6 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert of Baroque music from the reigns of King Louis XIV and XV on period instruments will feature: Kevin Lay, viola da gamba; and Peabody Conservatory guest artists Adam Pearl, harpsichord; Dan Boothe, baroque violin and Daniel Rippe, viola da gamba, fresh from their recent performance of Jean-Phillipe Rameau's Pices de clavecin en concert in the Hall of Musical Instruments at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History.

Free summer workshops available for students Virginia College at Huntsville will conduct four-day, complimentary summer workshops for high school students. The workshops include web design, network administration, imaging and visualization, medical, therapeutic massage, business administration and office procedures. HYO summer music camp offered The Huntsville Youth Orchestra will sponsor its ninth annual Tennessee Valley Music Festival June 9-14 at Catholic High School, 4810 Bradford Drive, in Huntsville. Enrollment is open to all levels of string players, and intermediate and advanced level wind, brass and percussion players. Costs range from $130-$160. Sanders is father of the year finalist Larry Sanders of Madison has been named as a finalist in The Volunteer Center of Madison County Father of the Year competition. Nominees were judged on how the individual impacts a child's life, community involvement and other fatherly attributes. The father of the year will be honored June 21 at Huntsville's Depot Roundhouse.
Safety workshops for kids to be held Kids Workshop and Safety Works for Kids programs will be held Saturday, June 7 from 9 a.m. until approximately 2:30 p.m. at Home Depot stores nationwide. The workshop and safety sessions are free.
County property tax protests to be heard The appraised valuations of all property listed for taxation in Madison County have been fixed as provided by law and filed in the tax assessor's office. The board of equalization will begin hearing protest on any of the valuations June 2 – July 31. Protests must be filed in writing in the tax assessor's office. Host families needed Pacific Intercultural Exchange is seeking host families for high school foreign exchange students for the 2003-2004 school year. Exchange students are 15-18 years old, speak English, have their own spending money and health insurance.
