Dolphins hold tryouts The Madison Dolphins Swim Team is preparing for another winning season. The Dolphins have compiled an unsurpassed record of excellence in age group swimming in Alabama. Along with the coaching staff, which helps swimmers gain strength and endurance, the team members take pride in their community and have a lot of fun throughout the summer. Tryouts for swimmers new to the team will be held at Dublin pool as follows: Last name beginning with letters A-M on Monday, May 12 at 4-6 p.m.; and last name beginning with letters N-Z on Tuesday, May 13 at 4-6 p.m. For more information, call 772-1518 or visit www.madisondolphins.com.
VFC holds soccer tryouts The Valley Futbol Club (VFC) will hold soccer tryouts for youth ages 9-18 for the 2003-2004 season on May 27-June 1 at Palmer Park. A makeup date will be held June 4 for anyone who cannot attend the earlier sessions. VFC is a newly formed youth soccer club based in Madison, but open to anyone in the North Alabama area. Specific dates, times, and locations for the different age groups are listed at www.valleyfutbolclub.com. Players should bring a ball, proper soccer attire (including shin guards), and water.
