Madison soccer coaches achieve "A" license status

By Staff
Two Madison soccer coaches have passed the U.S. Soccer Federation's "A" license certification.
Madison Soccer Club Technical Director and U10 Girls Coach, Mikko Jetsu, and MSC U10 Boys Coach Uwe Spiller, recently attended the course held at The University of Tampa.
An "A" license is the most advanced certification for a soccer coach in the United States. It is a practical requirement for collegiate and professional coaches.
"I am very delighted for our successful completion of the course. Madison Soccer Club now has three "A" licensed coaches, surpassing all area clubs with top-level qualifications for coaching," Jetsu said. "I think the club has demonstrated its philosophy of supporting coaches in furthering their coaching education and thus the ability to improve the level of coaching for their teams."
Spiller said 84 coaches from around the world attended the course.
"As most of the candidates had a professional playing background and several years of coaching experience, the quality of the experience surpassed my wildest expectations," Spiller said. "The USSF coaching staff instruction confirmed many of the beliefs we have within our club. I feel the Madison Soccer Club is a great choice for youth aspiring to become quality soccer players."
The Madison Soccer Club – Shockers – is the premier youth soccer organization in North Alabama for U-9 through U-18 girls and boys. Its Web site is www.madisonsc.org.
