Police hope arrests end rash of car thefts

Two Huntsville men have been arrested following an on-foot chase through Madison – ending an investigation of several car burglaries and thefts in the area.
Phillip Lee Collins, 19, and James Antonio Carlos Page, 22, was arrested in connection with 16 motor vehicle burglaries and the theft of one vehicle. An arrest is pending on a third suspect, Michael Allan Case, 19, of Harvest.
Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle near County Line Road late last week. According to Madison Police Chief Dan Busken, when officers attempted to stop the suspects, a short pursuit followed and the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Madison investigators later identified the suspects and recovered items of more than $18,000. The arrest also cleared several cases taken by the Madison County Sheriff's Office.
Collins and Page are being held in the Madison County Jail with bond set at $24,000 each. Case has been charged by the Madison County Sheriff's Department on related charges and is being held in the Madison County Jail.
