Beck named new Calhoun president

Dr. Marilyn C. Beck has been named the new president of Calhoun Community College.
An Alabama native, Beck served as president of Lord Fairfax Community College in Winchester, Va. since 1988. Prior to becoming president at Lord Fairfax, she served as dean of academic affairs at Lurleen B. Wallace State Community College in Andalusia and as a math professor at Auburn and Troy State universities. She holds a bachelor's degree from Troy State and two graduate degrees from Auburn.
Beck replaces former President Richard Carpenter, who stepped down in April to become president of the Wisconsin Technical College System.
Beck will begin work at Calhoun in late January 2003. She will be presented at the December state board meeting.
