Asbury conducts treatment groups
Asbury United Methodist Church will conduct several treatment groups beginning in late October designed to promote interpersonal and spiritual growth and help local residents address some of the problems that are keeping them from living a fulfilling life.
All groups will meet in the Counseling Center on Hughes Road. The groups that will be offered include Parents and Prodigals – a group for parents of children with behavior problems and rebellion issues. The meeting time will be at 9 a.m. on Saturdays. Adult Children of Alcoholics – a group for adults who grew up in a home with an alcoholic parent/guardian. The meeting time will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays. Power Over Pornography – a treatment group for men who have developed an obsession with pornography (especially Internet pornography) that has created problems in their personal and professional lives. The meeting time will be at 11 a.m. on Saturdays. New Beginnings – a divorce support group. U Go Girl – a group designed for single mothers. Stepping Out – a group designed to help people confront and overcome their fears.
