Theatre Huntsville auditions
Theatre Huntsville announces open auditions for Tom Griffin's dramedy "The Boys Next Door" at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday, Sept. 15-16 in the Von Braun Center Playhouse. Open auditions are being held early to allow for the holiday season and all Tennessee Valley residents are invited to attend. Scripts are available for loan through the Theatre Huntsville office at 256-536-0807. The dramedy will run Jan. 17-19 and 23-25, 2003.
Age/gender needed: 4 lead males 30's and up; 1 lead male 20's and up; 1 lead female 30's and up; 1 supporting male 50's and up; 2 cameo males – varying ages; 4 cameo females – varying ages. Theatrical resumes accepted, if available, but are not mandatory. The roles of Norman and Shelia will require some dance ability. No southern accents; certain characters may require northern/northeastern accents; 3 lead male roles, 1 lead female role, and 1 cameo female role require realistic vocal portrayal of the mentally/or physically disabled. Callbacks, if necessary, will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. at the VBC Playhouse. Those interested in a technical capacity (hair, makeup, costumes, set building, publicity, etc.) are invited to attend auditions in order to fill out a form and express his interests. Local student showcased in art exhibit
Rebekah Peterson of Madison was recently featured in the Student Art Exhibit at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind.
Her digital print piece "Type Specification Poster" was on display in the exhibit now to May 12. She is a junior majoring in art and a graduate of Bob Jones High School. She is the daughter of Scott and Bonnie Peterson.
Valparaiso University is an independent comprehensive Lutheran university that enrolls more than 3,600 students on its campus located 55 southeast of Chicago.
