Allen named young engineer of the year

The Alabama Society of Professional Engineers has named Madison resident John Allen as its Young Engineer of the Year for 2002.
The award is provided through the organizations Circle of Excellence awards program held every year. Allen was recognized and presented the award on July 1 at The Grand Hotel at Point Clear in Fairhope as part of the Tri-State Annual Engineering Conference.
"It is an honor to represent the state and my profession in receiving this award," Allen said.
Allen is the vice president and chief operating officer of Cornerstone Engineering Group in Decatur. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Madison, Madison Planning Commission, Madison Holiday Parade co-chair; American Cancer Society Walker; Huntsville-Madison County Land Trust; Alabama Republican Party.
